"Proudly serving the East Bay for more than 50 Years!"

Legendary Service in Hardware

As your local Ace Hardware, our store is a member of the largest retailer-owned hardware cooperative in the industry. Ace Hardware began as a small chain of stores in 1924 and has grown to include more than 4,600 stores in 50 states and more than 70 countries. As the helpful hardware folks in your community, we promise that, "helping you is the most important thing we have to do today."

John and Rose Correia constructed this building in 1900 to house their mercantile store, the Hayward Emporium. In the 1930s, downstairs became a hardware store while the second floor was a peewee golf course and later a gym used by all the local boxers, including champion Max Baer and in the 1960's by Heavyweight Champion George Foreman. It has been home to Hayward Ace Hardware since the 1950s.

In the spring of 2006, Hayward ACE was purchased by Jim Wieder and quickly earned recognition as a Hayward Small Business of the Year, ACE Vision 21 accreditation for superior customer service, with A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau. Come say hello to see why more East Bay residents now choose Hayward ACE!
